  1. whoa. i hope you weren’t wearing contact lenses.
    it really is a beautiful photo, though the reality of it is one of the most unappealing i can think of when considering getting out and going to the store. i talked with a great uncle a few months ago about growing up during the depression in the dust bowl, and he said that his folks built a frame around his bed and had it draped in sheets, forming a canopy/tent. every couple of weeks, he’d wake up and the whole thing would be completely black with dust on the outside. he told a number of stories like that–it’s incredible to think what dust can do.
    in your case, i’m glad it meant a good photo op.

  2. Wow. I think the Abilene Chamber of Commerce’s “Experience the Suck of the Dustbowl” campaign has really gotten out of hand.
